While I was participating in the 2022 30DayMapChallenge, I saw some posts about the GeoHipster calendar for 2023. Submissions had already closed but my interest was piqued. I resolved to pick my favourite map from the challenge and improve it enough to make a half decent submission.
Over the summer of 2023 I did just that with my map of Hawaiian volcanoes, making some improvements to the cloud masking of the Sentinel-2 image that forms the basis of the map, and other minor edits. To my shock and delight, my submission was included in the 2024 calendar as the February entry! I am now a published cartographer!
